The first form teaches the fundamental movements of the traditional broadsword.  This is sort of like Pinan 1 in our Kempo system in that it uses similar movements throughout to aid in solidly developing your core broadsword movements.

In this form we chose to use pair a sword similar to a Hudiedao (butterfly sword) and a round rattan shield (Tengpai) most commonly used in Shaolin Kung-Fu.  With multiple barrel rolls and several other dynamic and explosive movements, this form will help develop incredible coordination between the body and the weapons.

The Cantonese Broadsword involves very fluid movements followed by rapid flourishes.  In this Broadsword form, it is crucial to be able to smoothly transition between movements from a traditional grip to a reverse or inverted grip.

The first Double Broadsword form will help you develop the double flourish.  The coordination between movement, stance work and both right and left handed swordsmanship will bring you one step closer to mastery of the sword.

In this Cantonese Broadsword set, you will be switching the sword back and forth between your right hand and left all while maintaining fluidity in the blade.  Along with several flourishes, there is a dynamic release move to finish out this beautiful sword form.

Requiring a high level of skill, the Double Broadsword form has every type of skill imaginable with the swords from forward and backward flourishes to dynamically opposed movements and even ground based combinations.  Cap it off with a Kip Up at the end and this form truly has a challenge for everyone to work on!
